Caltech Exoplanet Technology Laboratory (ET Lab) was founded in 2016. Located in the basement of Cahill, the ET Lab is an ISO 7 cleanroom with two vibration-isolated optical tables, and high-precision optical metrology equipment. The ET Lab is aimed at developing new techniques and technologies for the detection and characterization of exoplanets. We have been focusing on optical and infrared single-mode fiber testing for various Doppler applications and instruments, deformable mirror (DM) testing for ground-based adaptive optics systems, advanced coronagraph plus wavefront sensing and control developments for segmented telescopes, the demonstration of High Dispersion Coronagraphy (HDC), and integration of the Keck Planet Imager and Characterizer (KPIC).
