Garreth Ruane
Enabling the direct detection and atmospheric characterization of exoplanets at small angular separation from their host stars.
Profile:
Garreth is an Optical Engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory working on astronomical instrumentation, especially for high contrast imaging and characterization of exoplanets. He is involved in the development of the high contrast modes for Keck/NIRC2 and the Keck Planet Imager and Characterizer (KPIC). He received his Ph.D. from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2016 and was an NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech from 2016 to 2019.
