Infrared testbed
The infrared testbed in the ET lab is equipped with a Merlin infrared camera cooled with liquid nitrogen, a series of infrared laser and broadband light sources, infrared fibers and optics (e.g. gold coated mirrors). It is used to test innovative infrared optical components and modules for our future instruments (e.g. coronagraphs, beam-shaping optics, atmospheric dispersion compensators, etc.).
